On September 2, we visited Shimizu Auto a company specializing in auto body repair, painting, vehicle inspections, and sales. A total of eight people, five interns and three of our employees attended the visit, where we were given a tour of the actual worksite. During the tour, we were able to observe the employees at work up close, which deepened our understanding of the workplace atmosphere and workflow. We also had the opportunity to hear directly from foreign employees about their job responsibilities and what makes their work rewarding, making it a valuable experience for all participants.
We heard from foreign employees about their current job responsibilities and their experiences working in Japan, and from Japanese employees about the importance of the skills and experience gained on the job, even as society and the times continue to change. We learned about the importance of acquiring specialized technical skills as we move further into the AI era.
The interns listened intently and were seen asking questions. This company visit provided them with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the automotive industry and manufacturing workplaces.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone at Shimizu Auto for graciously welcoming us on this visit. We will continue to support our study-abroad interns through opportunities like this so they can deepen their understanding of various industries and jobs.
